What To Ask A Commercial Cleaning Provider Before You Sign

Most cleaning contracts are evaluated on price. A short list of better questions to ask any provider before the proposal becomes a partnership.

Choosing a commercial cleaning provider is a procurement decision with long-term operational consequences. The right questions, asked early, save a great deal of friction later.

Questions worth asking

  • Who walks the building, and how often? Is it a supervisor or the account owner?
  • What does your training program look like for the people actually in our facility?
  • Are you insured and bonded? Will you provide a current certificate?
  • How do you handle the first issue I bring forward — and what's the resolution timeline?
  • Can I see a sample scope of work for a building similar to ours?
  • What's your employee retention look like? High turnover is felt on the floor.

What the answers tell you

A provider who answers crisply, in writing, and without hedging is showing you their operating standard. A provider who deflects is also telling you something — just earlier than you'd otherwise learn it.

Youngs Cleaning is happy to take any of these questions head on. If you're evaluating a change, reach out for a direct conversation.
